GRHS names new chief executive officer

Jeffrey Mason

The Glencoe Regional Health Services (GRHS) Board of Directors on May 21 approved the appointment of Jeffrey S. Mason, master of business administration (MBA), bachelor of science in nursing (BSN), registered nurse (RN), and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), to become the organization’s next president and chief executive officer (CEO). Mason will start at GRHS on June 19. He succeeds Jon D. Braband, master of health care administration (MHA), FACHE, who will retire July 5 after leading the nonprofit community health care system for the past 25 years.
Mason brings nearly 30 years of administrative leadership experience to GRHS. He currently lives in Miami, Florida, where he has been CEO of The Miami Medical Center since June 2016. From 1990 to 2016, Mason was based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he owned and operated a health-care management consulting firm and held leadership positions at several hospitals and clinics. He was CEO of BayCare Clinic, a multi-specialty physician practice with $310 million in annual revenues, for 14 years.
More about Mason and the transition at GRHS will be published in the June 6 print edition of The Chronicle.
