GSL Homecoming week set Sept. 21-25

As Homecoming approaches at Glencoe-Silver Lake High School, a Meet the Candidates event will be held on Sept. 17 during the high school’s fourth hour.
The official homecoming week will kick off on Monday, Sept. 21, and last through Friday, Sept. 25.
Each day of the week will feature a different theme. They include ’Merican Monday, Tacky Tourist Tuesday, Worldy Wednesday, Thrift Shop Thursday, and Panther Pride day on Friday.
Several events will take place during the week. On Monday volleyball will be held during the school’s second hour. Coronation will be held Monday night at 8 p.m. Tuesday will feature a tug-of-war tournament during sixth hour. An outdoor cookout will be held on Wednesday during fifth hour. On Thursday during third hour charades will be played.
Friday will feature a pep fest during seventh hour. The homecoming parade will take place a 5:30 p.m. with the route beginning at Helen Baker Elementary School and ending at the high school.
The homecoming football game is set for 7 p.m. when GSL will face off against Delano. The homecoming dance will take place after the game until midnight.
