GSL’s Krysten Dane honored association’s ‘new achiever’
She’s one of those people who seemingly doesn’t have bad days at work. If that’s really true, it’s simply because Krysten Dane loves her job.
Dane is in her fourth year teaching family and consumer science classes to Glencoe-Silver Lake junior and senior high-schoolers. Her association, the Minnesota Association of Family & Consumer Science Teachers, recently honored Dane. She was named the association’s new achiever of the year.
Dane came to GSL four years ago after a three-year stint teaching FACS at Dassel-Cokato. Dane is currently teaching three different FACS classes throughout the school day – infants to ninth- through 12-graders, seventh grade FACS, and creative foods to ninth- through 12th-graders. The other FACS classes she might be teaching include eighth grade FACS, fashion merchandising, school-age childcare, living on your own, world foods, culinary arts, and entrepreneurship.
