GSL art students honored at Youth Art Month Exhibition
The Art Educators of Minnesota Youth Art Month Student Exhibition began March 5 at the Minnesota State Capitol in the North Corridor and will conclude on March 17 with a closing reception and Awards in the Rotunda from noon to 2 p.m.
Hours to view the exhibition are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m to 4 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the viewing of a collection of student artwork from around the state, among them local students Aubrey Lindeman and Rylee Magnuson from Lakeside Elementary, Glencoe-Silver Lake Public School, who will be receiving recognition awards for second and third place for the Youth Art Month Flag Design Competition for the elementary level. Their instructor is Andrea Wigern, K-6 Visual Arts teacher. The students’ flag designs will be used in publications to support Youth Art Month throughout the state of Minnesota.
