GSL in full swing; building project update

To the Editor:
 
We are in full swing at Glencoe-Silver Lake (GSL).  
 
Classes are in the second half of the first trimester, fall activities are moving into the section competition, and our calendar continues to move along.  The school year is certainly moving fast and furious.
 
With the building project, we are still working on the design and making the decisions on the many details that come with this project. It has been a great opportunity to bring together the many user groups that will work in the spaces the new addition will bring.
Recently, we hired DonLar Construction as our Construction Manager. They have vast experience in building schools and are a great fit for our project.
 
The behind-the-scenes work will continue to happen for most of the winter and we are scheduled to break ground in March 2016.
I would like to thank all of you for your support of GSL. We have a great school and are working hard to make it better for our students. Here’s to continued success during the 2015-2016 school year.
