GSL girls' hoop on a roll

Things started clicking into place for the Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ basketball team last week as the Panthers broke above the .500 mark for the first time this season.

GSL ran its overall record to 3-2 on the season and its winning streak to three games after a 53-45 win over Tri-City United on Tuesday, Dec. 8, followed by a 68-38 shellacking of host LeSueur-Henderson four days later.

After opening its season with two losses – one close, one blowout – the Panthers entered this week with a head of steam with three wins of ever-increasing differentials.

GSL’s run began with a 52-47 win at Sibley East on Friday, Dec. 4, but it was last Tuesday’s game against TCU in which the Panthers’ home crowd finally got to see its team claim victory.

The Panthers ran out to a 31-23 halftime lead against the Titans and held onto the eight-point advantage in the final count to level their record at 2-2 on the year.
