Guadalupe “Lupe” “Wally” Cano, 59, of Glencoe, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Dec. 12, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Tony Stubeda officiating. Anna Marie Reiter was the organist. The Spanish Choir was the song leader. Musical selections were “Toda la Tierra,” “Salmo 23,” “Buenos Dias Paloma Blanca,” “Vision Pastoral: Cien Ovejas,” “Que los Angeles te Lleven al Paraiso” and “Adios, O Virgen de Guadalupe.”
Casket bearers were his family. Interment was in the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery.
Guadalupe “Lupe” “Wally” Cano was born Dec. 13, 1957, in Lubbock, Texas, to Alfonso Lopez Cano and Romelia (Castillo) Cano. He was baptized at Our Lady of Refuge Church in Eagle Pass, Texas, and confirmed there April 27, 1968. He attended school in Eagle Pass.
He made his home in Eagle Pass, Texas; Dayton, Washington; and Glencoe. He loved to build model cars, paint, listen to music and spend time with his family and friends. He loved going to church. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Glencoe.
He is survived by his siblings, Margarita (Oscar) Mena of Glencoe, Juan (Audrey) Cano of Madison, Wisconsin, Alfonso Cano of Litchfield, Jesus (Alma) Cano of San Antonio, Texas, Juanita Gomez of Eagle Pass, Texas, and Jose Cano of Eagle Pass, Texas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso and Romelia Cano; and brother, Adolfo Cano.
