Gymnasts looking to build in past successes
The Glencoe-Silver Lake gymnastics team will take part in its first competition of the season this Saturday and are ready to improve on the improvements of the past.
“We want to surpass the scores we had last year,” coach Kim Hahn said. “If we can stay in the range of scores we had last year or exceed that, I will be happy.”
Last season, the Panthers concluded a successful campaign by recording a season-best score of 123.975 at the section meet. That tally was nearly 19 points better than the 105 GSL posted at the 2014 sectionals.
For a team that doesn’t necessarily count its successes in terms of wins or losses, continual improvement individually and as a team is key.
