Happy 100th birthday – People keep life enjoyable, vibrant for Betty Knick

She enjoys strolling the hallways and bituminous walking paths at Grand Meadows for exercise and visiting with friends and neighbors. It all keeps Betty Knick vibrant, feeling good and looking forward to everyday life.
That’s what makes life worthwhile for Glencoe’s latest centenarian.
Betty and over 40 relatives and friends celebrated the milestone event at a Glencoe restaurant. She was the star of the show, the center of attention. Visiting with people, chatting and sharing good conversation are among her favorite pastimes. She enjoys watching ballgames and playing games.
“I just enjoy being around people,” she said.
Betty (Drew) Knick was born Sept. 27, 1919 in North Dakota. She is one of the middle of 10 children – five boys, five girls – born to Edith and Granville Drew. Betty was the youngest of the girls.
