Helen Maria Huser, 99, of Waconia

Helen Maria (Kramer) Huser, 99, of Waconia, formerly of Lester Prairie, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Good Samaritan Bethany Society in Waconia.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie with the Rev. Bethany Nelson officiating.
Nancy Buckentine was the organist. Soloist Tim Smith sang “In the Garden” and “Borning Cry.” Congregational hymns were “Amazing Grace” and “Abide With Me.”
Honorary urn bearers were Eric Huser, Paul Huser, Brian Huser, Jenny Antilla, Donavon Birkholz and Dane Birkholz. Interment was in the Bergen Cemetery in Bergen Township, rural Lester Prairie.
Helen Maria (Kramer) Huser was born May 4, 1915, in Young America Township, Carver County, the daughter of Herman and Bertha (Buckentin) Kramer. She was baptized as an infant on May 16, 1915, by the Rev. A. Baumhaefner, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 24, 1929, by the Rev. M.F. Abraham, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America. She attended school through the eighth grade at St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School in Young America and graduated from Central High School in Norwood Young America with the class of 1933. She continued her education, receiving teaching training at the same school in 1934.
On June 11, 1938, she was united in marriage to Marvin Huser at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America. They lived on the family farm in rural Lester Prairie. In 1997, they moved into Lester Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with three children, David, Joel and Caroline. The Husers shared over 59 years of marriage before Mr. Huser died on March 31, 1998.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Huser taught school for five years in Carver and McLeod counties, and helped Mr. Huser on the family farm. She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, where she was a member of the Women’s Group and taught vacation Bible school and Sunday school.
Mrs. Huser enjoyed playing cards, dancing, traveling, quilting and crocheting. She loved caring for her family and cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, David (Arla) Huser of Lester Prairie, Joel (fianceé Gayle Parizino) Huser of Andover and Caroline (Donn) Birkholz of Lester Prairie; grandchildren, Eric (Janean) Huser, Paul (Ann) Huser, Paula (special friend Dan) Heimerl, Tim (Brenda) Johns, Steve (Erin) Johns, Brian (special friend Emma) Huser, Jenny (Mike) Antilla, Donavon (Elissa) Birkholz and Dane (special friend Jessica) Birkholz; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Ethan, Alex, Ben, Jacob, Jessica, Samantha, Lincoln, Kirsti, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Emma, Reese, Jayden, Cole, Tanner and Brynn; great-great-grandson, Harrison; sister-in-law, Ruth Kramer of Waconia; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Bertha Kramer; husband, Marvin Huser; grandson, Marc Huser; daughter-in-law, Linda Huser; and siblings, Olga Halvorson, Harold Kramer, HIlton Kramer and Laura Hatleli.
