Kolbe, and was confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 2, 1939, by the Rev. Streufert, both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. On June 20, 1950, he was united in marriage to Darlene Duenow by the Rev. Mueller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. They made their home on the farm in Sibley County. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Leon, Byron and Scott. The couple were blessed to share over 62 years of marriage until Mrs. Becker’s death on Sept. 8, 2012.
Mr. Becker was a farmer and was able to share his love of farming with his sons. He was a lifelong member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, splitting wood, gardening, canning his vegetables, feeding birds, polka dancing with his wife and sitting on the porch watching the traffic. He also loved being a farmer and still watered the cows and fed his cats. The date chosen for his funeral, July 31, is the birth date of his wife, Darlene. He treasured spending time with his family and friends.
