Hillard Oelfke, 91, of Hamburg

Hillard Oelfke, age 91 of rural Hamburg passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Golden Hearts Assisted Living Center in Arlington. A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 24 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Hillard Herman Oelfke was born on March 19, 1927 on the family farm in Helen Township, McLeod County to Otto and Ida (Kroells) Oelfke. Being a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hillard was baptized and confirmed there by Rev. Baumann. He attended Emanuel Lutheran School. Hillard was raised and worked on the family farm his entire life.
Mr. Oelfke is survived by a sister; Marion Ische of Glencoe, brother; Gerald Oelfke of Hamburg; two nephews; Mark Ische (special friend Maureen Lowden) and Tom (Nancy) Ische; two great-nieces, Brianna Ische and Kaitlyn (Ryan) Fox.
He is preceded in death by his parents Otto and Ida Oelfke; brother Walter, in infancy; brother-in-law Harlan Ische; sister-in-law Jeanette Oelfke; and niece through marriage, Kathy Ische.
Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements.
