Hot-shooting Hutch thwarts GSL
The Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ basketball team dropped to 2-2 on the season with a 98-70 loss at hot-shooting Hutchinson on Friday, Dec. 9.
“It was a great game,” coach Jeff Monahan said. “We would have liked to have defended better, but when the other team shoots the lights out like that, what are you going to do?”
While the Panthers did all they could to keep the game close through much of the first half, the hot-shooting Tigers pulled away with a trio of three pointers in the final minutes before halftime to pull away from the visitors for good.
Hutchinson made 18 three pointers in the game, shooting 54.55 percent from beyond the arc in doing so, with three Tigers players sinking five three-pointers each.
