Hutch man sentenced for making threats
A Hutchinson man will spend 60 days in the McLeod County Jail after pleading guilty in McLeod County District Court to felony-level charge, threats of violence.
District Court Judge Jessica Maher sentenced Adam Barthel, 45, Feb. 12 after he pleaded guilty to the single count. Barthel was placed on probation for three years.
Along with the jail time, terms of the probation include no same or similar offenses. Barthel must remain law abiding, complete a chemical dependency evaluation and follow the recommendations of the evaluation. He can’t use or possess alcohol or controlled substances, and must submit to random testing.
Barthel must also complete a domestic abuse evaluation and pay a $200 fine-surcharge.
