Hutch/GSL soccer team swats Hornets in opener

The Hutchinson/Glencoe-Silver Lake soccer team enjoyed a successful debut Friday, Aug. 28, with a 5-1 win over Big Lake at Stevens Seminary Field.
In its first game as a co-op team, Hutch/GSL faced a 1-0 halftime deficit. The Hornets scored their only goal of the game at the 9:19 mark off a corner kick. But as the Hornets went to intermission, Big Lake coach Michael Baldwin saw the fatigue his players were enduring.
