Irene A. Beich, 88, of Hutchinson

Irene Beich, 88, of Hutchinson, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Private graveside services were held at St. Mat-thew’s Lutheran Cemetery in Penn Township, McLeod County, with the Rev. Andrew Hermodson-Olsen officiating.
Casket bearers were Justin Uecker, Chad Fisher, Corey Fisher, Larry Fisher and Orlin Harbarth.
Irene Adeline Beich was born Dec. 7, 1927, in Round Grove Township, rural Fernando, the daughter of Paul and Hedwig (Klitzke) Beich. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart. She received her education at District 50 School in Round Grove Township.
She was married to Gerhardt Muffelman on June 8, 1951, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Penn Township. She resided on the family farm near Brownton and helped with farming and homemaking duties. In 1981, she moved to Hutchinson along with her mother and brother, and assisted in caring for them.
She was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Penn Township.
She enjoyed gardening, listening to old-time music, reading, going to church, and she enjoyed babysitting for relatives and friends. She will always be remembered for her kindness.
When she needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson on Nov. 23, 2015, and she died there on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by her sister, Leona Harbarth of Hutchinson; nieces, Darlene Trebelhorn of Hutchinson, Carol (Larry) Fisher of Arlington and Connie Harbarth of Hutchinson; nephew, Orlin Harbarth of Litchfield; great-nephews, Chad (Kelly) Fisher of Arlington, Corey (Heidi Jo) Fisher of Arlington, and Justin (Erin) Uecker of Mayer; great-great nieces, Gretta Fisher and Seaton Uecker, and Ellen and Victoria Henry; great-great nephews, Landon and Nolan Fisher; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hedwig Beich; brother, Erwin Beich; brother-in-law, Raymond Harbarth; and nephew-in-law, Phil Trebelhorn.
