Joel Henry Teubert, 51, of Glencoe

Joel Henry Teubert, 51, of Glencoe, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, April 20, at the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe with the Rev. Anthony Stubeda officiating. Sue Mielke was the organist. Song leaders were Shari Templin and Kelly LeCrone, and Jesse Cameron played the bagpipes. Musical selections were “Here I Am, Lord,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Hosea, Come Back to Me,” “Song of Farewell” and “Amazing Grace.”
Honorary casket bearers were Mr. Teubert’s brothers. Casket bearers were David Groff, Scott Bondhus, Brian Schupe, Charles Adams, Brad Trnka and Ronald VonBerge.
Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery, rural Glencoe.
Joel Henry Teubert was born Aug. 23, 1963, in Glencoe. He was the son of Albert “Sonny” and Mary Ann (Carriere) Teubert. He was baptized as an infant on Sept. 8, 1963, and was confirmed in his faith on March 2, 1977. He attended parochial school at St. Pius X Catholic School, and graduated with the class of 1981 from Glencoe High School. He furthered his education at the Hutchinson Vo-Tech, where he received a diesel mechanic degree.
On April 27, 1990, he was united in marriage to Joyce Fasching at the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe. They made their home on a farm in Glencoe, and their marriage was blessed with two children, Jacob and Genevieve “Jenny.”
Mr. Teubert owned and operated Teubert Construction and also held seasonal employment at Seneca Foods in Glencoe. He was a member of St. Pius X in Glencoe, a past member of the Glencoe Jaycees, and was active in the McLeod Fish and Wildlife Conservation.
First and foremost, Mr. Teubert loved his family. He was known as one who would drop what he was doing to lend a helping hand for anyone, and many knew him as “Uncle JoJo.” He also loved his eye-rolling jokes and would share them with anyone who would listen. He also enjoyed softball, and lately was a local umpire for the sport. Other hobbies included fishing, hunting, shooting pool, grilling, playing cards and cribbage. Perhaps his favorite pastime was to spend time at his lake cabin with his family and friends, where there was peace and solitude.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Teubert of Glencoe; son, Jacob Teubert (special friend, Courtney Birkholtz) of Brookings, S.D.; daughter, Jenny Teubert of Glencoe; father, Albert “Sonny” Teubert of Glencoe; mother-in-law, Frances Knick of Hutchinson; siblings, Eugene Teubert of Glencoe, Andrew Teubert of Norwood Young America, Peter (Tina) Teubert of Glencoe, Jane Teubert of Glencoe and Paul Teubert of Glencoe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barb (Sid) Alsleben of Hutchinson and Mike (Barb) Fasching of Hutchinson; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Teubert; and father-in-law, Vernon Knick.
Arrangements were with the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe. Online obituaries and guest book are available at www.hantge.com.
