Johnson appointed to workforce board

Denise Johnson, owner and chief executive officer (CEO) of RiteWay Conveyors, Inc., Lester Prairie, was recently elected to the Central Minnesota Workforce Development Board (WDB).
She represents private industry in McLeod County. In addition, she will serve on the board’s youth committee.
Johnson is a strong advocate for workforce development.
“I believe that we need to get kids involved in the trades industry and give them a better understanding of manufacturing,” said Johnson. She currently has a pre‐apprenticeship program in place for her employees through a partnership with Wright Technical School. In 2012, she provided onsite training to employees through a Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant and Ridgewater College.
She is a member of the Central Minnesota Manufacturing Association, the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and the Winsted Chamber of Commerce.
