Judy Braunwarth, 70, of NYA

Judy Braunwarth
Judy Braunwarth, 70, of Norwood Young America, died Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

A memorial service was held Friday, Oct. 2, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America with the Rev. David Winter officiating. Interment was in the Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Norwood Young America.

Judith “Judy” Ann (Knop) Braunwarth was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Glencoe, the daughter of John and Delores (Schatz) Knop. She was baptized Oct. 7, 1945, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton by the Rev. G. Schmidt. She was confirmed in the faith on March 22, 1959, at First Lutheran Church in Glencoe by the Rev. A.H. Fellwock.

On July 10, 1971, she was united in marriage with Richard Braunwarth at the Ascension Catholic Church in Norwood by the Rev. Russell. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Jason and Angela. The couple made their home on farm north of Young America. Besides being a dedicated farm wife and mother, Mrs. Braunwarth worked for Young America Corporation.

She loved cooking and baking. There was always a new recipe she wanted to try and she was always looking in cookbooks and magazines for new ideas. Her cookies and pumpkin squares were the best. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, playing games, solitaire and crossword puzzles. She looked forward to Phase 10 night with family and friends and was known to pout when things didn’t go her way in the game. She enjoyed polka dancing, being outdoors on the farm and driving the golf cart to check up on her husband.

Mrs. Braunwarth will be remembered for her loving, quiet personality who loved to cook and entertain, especially at Christmas time. She cherished the time spent with family, friends and neighbors, especially her granddaughter Evelyn.

She is survived by her loving family: husband, Richard Braunwarth; son, Jason Braunwarth of Norwood Young America; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Aaron Braunwarth-Hartwell of Mankato; granddaughter, Evelyn Hartwell; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Betty Knop of Chanhassen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jeanne and Jerry Kreger of Green Isle, Jim and Cheryl Braunwarth of Norwood Young America, RoseMary and Lee Brown of Watertown and John and Linda Braunwarth of Norwood Young America; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia, www.johnsonfh.com.
