Lee Bullert, 69, of Cottage Grove

Lee (Rosalie) Bullert (nee Rennells), 69, of Cottage Grove, died peacefully on March 12, 2016, at Cerenity-Marian Care Center in St. Paul.
The funeral service will be Sunday, March 20, at 2 p.m., at All Saints Lutheran Church 8100 Belden Blvd., Cottage Grove.
 
Visitation will be Saturday, March 19, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with remembrances at 5:30 p.m., at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S, Cottage Grove, and Sunday, March 20, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the church. Additional visitation will be held Monday, March 21, from 10 a.m to 11 a.m, at Johnson-McBride Funeral Home, 1222 Hennepin Ave. N, Glencoe. Burial will be in the Glencoe City Cemetery.
 
Rosalie “Lee” Kay Rennells was born Dec. 6, 1946, in Wayzata. She was baptized on March 30, 1947, and confirmed on June 5, 1960, at The Evangelical and  Reformed Church in Lester Prairie. She graduated from Lester Prairie High School in 1964.
 
On June 17, 1967, she was united in marriage to Bernie Richard Bullert at the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Lester Prairie. Prior to settling in Cottage Grove in 1973, the couple lived in California and Tennessee while Mr. Bullert was serving in the Navy.
 
Mrs. Bullert worked for Health Partners for 30 years. She was active in the D.A.R. She was a volunteer Cub Scout den leader, taught Sunday school and served as the assistant Sunday school superintendent at All Saints Lutheran Church. She volunteered for many years for Loaves and Fishes.
 
She assisted with the Language Club at Park High School, through which she took two trips to Germany and a trip to England. She loved having junior handlers work with her Pembroke Welsh Corgis, and was a board member of the Animal Inn Juniors Association. She was active in the North Star Herding Group Club.
 
Mrs. Bullert faithfully supported St. Jude’s Children’s Research. She and her husband started two funds that were near and dear to their hearts: The Bernie and Lee Bullert Fund at The St. Paul Foundation, and the Minnesota Water Research Fund at the University of Minnesota Foundation.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lydia (Wuetherich)  Kruschke; nieces, Paige and Faith Ziemer; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernie and Helen (Ide) Bullert.
 
She is the beloved wife of Bernie Bullert; mother of Caitlyn (Mark Vargus) of Spring Valley, California, and Kurt (Lisa McEnery) of Port Richey, Florida; sister of Eugene “Gene” Rennells of Minneapolis; twin sister of Rosalind “Lin” (the Rev. Ron) Ziemer of Danville, Illinois; aunt of Chad Ziemer of Coon Rapids and Dana Ziemer of Detroit Lakes; great-aunt of Tahlia and Gracie; sister-in-law of Bruce (Patty) Bullert of Fort Meyers, Florida; Brenda (Joe) Lenz of Buffalo; and many other family members.
 
Arrangements are with the Kok Funeral Home in Cottage Grove.
