Leslie Dolezal, 88, North Minneapolis

Leslie George Dolezal, 88, of North Minneapolis, formerly of Silver Lake, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at the Golden Living Center in Hopkins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. The Rev. Paul Schumacher will be the celebrant and Alice Nowak will be the organist.
Casket bearers are KariLyn Carlson, Chad Dolezal, Robin Dolezal, Wade Dolezal, Randy Knoll, Lynn Lutz and Tim Speckel.
Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery.
He was born July 2, 1928, in Silver Lake, the son of John J. and Sophie C. (Schultz) Dolezal.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was formerly employed at Millerbernd Manufacturing in Winsted for over 25 years.
On Nov. 13, 1971, he was joined in holy marriage to Marcella Filipek.
Mr. Dolezal enjoyed being in his garage fixing things and was always tinkering with something. He was the ultimate handyman. He was in a bowling league for 20 years and belonged to the Knights of Columbus Cabrini Council 1841.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella Dolezal of North Minneapolis; stepson, Jeff Filipek of Chaska; stepgrandchildren, Garrett Filipek, Ryan Filipek and Taylor Filipek; sister, Jane (Gerry) Speckel of Coon Rapids; brothers, Franklin (Marilyn) Dolezal of Zimmerman and Richard (Nancy) Dolezal of Lester Prairie; sisters-in-law, Gracie Dolezal of Montgomery and Janet Dolezal and Tina Dolezal, both of Hutchinson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Ernest; a sister, Lucille Knoll; and brothers, Edwin, John Jr., Willard “Willie” and Donald Dolezal.
