Locally based World Nice entering 2nd year of helping others help others

People providing food and clothing to the homeless, aiding victims of domestic abuse, empowering women and caring for orphans, helping hard to place animals find a forever home, supporting those suffering with mental illness, sending deployed soldiers a gift for the holidays, showing support to law officers in our county, giving children an opportunity to own their own books.
What do each of these individuals have in common?  They are everyday people fulfilling their passion for helping others. They are using their time and talents and even their own monies to make a difference in their community.  They are also recipients of funds from World Nice, a local nonprofit (501c3) founded right here in McLeod County.
World Nice has assisted people not only locally, but also in the metro area. World Nice’s impact was even felt as far away as Malawi, Africa.
“We are so proud of our recipients and the work they are doing. We love to tell the stories of those who are making the world a better place for everyone,” said Lee Lemke, who has operated World Nice for almost two years.
Prior to this, Lemke was employed for over 30 years working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. He also taught others how to work with special needs individuals through using a positive approach in their day-to-day living.
“I feel passionate that a positive approach is the best way to reach out to people, and World Nice is here to help those individuals who are living this concept every day,” said Lemke.
