Lois Ruth Engelmann, 85, of Glencoe

Lois Ruth (Bentz) Engelmann, 85, of Glencoe, formerly of Plato, died Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Memorial Services were held Wednesday, April 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato, with the Rev. Tyson Mastin officiating. Yvonne Schuette was the organist. Soloist Justin Rierson sang “The Lord’s Prayer.” Congregational hymns were “Amazing Grace,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.”
Urn bearers were Matthew Engelmann, Christopher Engelmann, Timothy Engelmann, Dylan Findlay, Maxwell Mansfield and Mitch Fogel. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Lois Ruth (Bentz) Engelmann was born Aug. 1, 1931, in Mora, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Weller) Bentz. She was baptized as an infant Aug. 23, 1931, by the Rev. H.F. Jaus in Mora, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth March 25, 1945, by the Rev. W.L. Stellwagon, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown. Her confirmation verse was Matthew 10:32. She received her education at Mound High School in Mound, graduating with the class of 1949.
On May 22, 1954, she was united in marriage to Raymond Engelmann by the Rev. L.F. Klug at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls. The couple made their home in Plato. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Donald, Randall, Robert, Kathleen and Debra. Lois and Raymond shared over 36 years of marriage together before Mr. Engelmann died on March 9, 1990.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Mrs. Engelmann was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato.     
She enjoyed singing, gardening, flowers, poetry, reading books and the Bible. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Darlene) Engelmann of Plato, Randall (Julie) Engelmann of Coon Rapids,  and Robert Engelmann of Norwood Young America; daughters, Kathleen (Keith) Findlay  of Mankato, and Debra Engelmann of Glencoe; eight grandchildren, Jodi, Timothy, Tracey, Matthew, Christopher, Kara, Kimberly and Dylan; 14 great-grandchildren, Samuel, Anthony, Daniel, Benjamin, Arabella, Raegan, Katelynn, Miles, Jesse, Abigail, John, Devon, Dain, and Kora; sisters-in-law, Helma Engelmann of Glencoe and Norma Engelmann of Waconia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Engelmann; parents, Herman and Mary (Weller) Bentz; parents-in-law, Henry and Stella (Dose) Engelmann; brothers, Raymond (Lorraine) Bentz, Gilbert (Ann) Bentz and James (Mary Lou) Bentz; sisters, Lillian (Alfred) Jackel and Elvera Bentz; brothers-in-law, Ruben Engelmann and  Elmer Engelmann; and sister-in-law, Ella Engelmann.
