Lorraine Catherine Dietz, 93, Glencoe

Lorraine Catherine Dietz, 93, of Glencoe, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe with the Rev. Anthony Stubeda officiating. The organist was Sue Mielke and Teresa Kuester was the song leader. Musical selections were “Here I Am, Lord,” “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman,” “Eye Has Not Seen,” “Song of Farewell” and “Amazing Grace.”
 
Casket bearers were Mrs. Dietz’s family. Interment was in the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery. 
 
Lorraine Catherine (Driessen) Dietz was born Aug. 9, 1922, in Chaska, the daughter of Elmer and Veronica (Vogel) Driessen. She was baptized on Aug. 15, 1922, and was later confirmed in her faith at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. She was a graduate of the Guardian Angels High School class of 1940. 
 
On June 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to Leo Dietz at Guardian Angels. They made their home in Montgomery for one year. Mr. Dietz’s teaching job moved them to Glencoe in 1948. Their marriage was blessed with four sons, Larry, Leon, Lonny and Kevin. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Dietz worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Crowley and later worked for the McLeod County License Bureau, Exsted Realty and MaGil Jewelery. They shared over 29 years of marriage. She remained in their family home until January 2010, when she moved to Grand Meadows in Glencoe. 
 
Her faith was very important to her. She included prayer and reciting the rosary in her daily life. As a member of the Church of St. Pius X, she served on the Council of Catholic Women. 
 
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Julie) of Novato, California, Leon (Linda) of Apple Valley, Lonny (Sandy) of Altura ,and Kevin (Linda) of Glencoe; her grandchildren, Colin, Elizabeth, Erin, Matt, Amanda and Michael; great-grandchildren Tayton and Tessa; brothers, Don (Lola) Driessen of Elk River and Tom (Marge) Driessen of Mound; and sister, Eleanor (Don) Dunn of Palm Desert, California. 
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Veronica Driessen; husband, Leo Dietz; grandson, Adam Dietz; and sisters Etta Schroers, Sally Driessen, Mary Ann Riesgraf and Delores Lopac.
