Man injured in Hwy. 212 crash
A St. Paul man was injured in a two-vehicle accident near Brownton Sunday. The accident was reported at 6:18 p.m.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Keith E. Olson, 54, of St. Paul, was northbound on Orange Avenue east of Brownton in a 2009 Toyota Corolla when he pulled onto Highway 212 into the eastbound lane. His vehicle was rear-ended by an eastbound 2001 Kenworth semi driven by Christopher M. Wersal, 23, of Springfield. Wersal tried to brake, but rear-ended the Toyota.
Olson was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Wersal was not injured.
The Toyota sustained severe damage while the semi had moderate damage, according to the State Patrol.
Assisting at the accident were Brownton Fire and Rescue and the Glencoe Ambulance.
