Marcella M. Fiecke was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Glencoe, the daughter of Joseph and Emily (Bednar) Molva. She received her education in District 29 country school for first through sixth grades, and then Glencoe High School for seventh through 12th grade, graduating with the Glencoe High School class of 1949. She excelled in geography and spelling. She spoke fondly of her adventures competing in spelling bees. After graduation, she worked as a seamstress at Strutwear, a clothing manufacturer in Glencoe.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Fiecke worked as the office manager with her husband in their trucking business until their retirement in 1992.
Family is what Mrs. Fiecke enjoyed most, including the traditional family Christmas party, Halloween Sunday, fishing on the pontoon, the family pets and visiting with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. With her grandchildren, she planned cooking/baking days and pajama party sleepovers. She was an avid seamstress, sewing clothes, quilts and pillows for her children and grandchildren. Her incredible sewing skills continue as they have been passed on to her children and grandchildren.
