Marian M. Bielke, 79, of Sauk Centre, died peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at her home.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, June 28) at 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with the Rev. Rebecca Thomas officiating. Visitation will be today (Wednesday) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the church.
Casket bearers will be Kurt Kurtzeg, Scott Kurtzweg, Mark Kurtzweg, Todd Smith, Scott Smith and Eric Sandquist. Honorary casket bearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Collette, Mike, Crystal, Danielle, Bennett, Paige and Kylie.
Interment will follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery.
Marian Mae Schatz was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Glencoe, to Elmer and Alvina (Zaske) Schatz. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School in Brownton through the eighth grade, and graduated from Brownton High School in 1955. She married Orlin Bielke on Oct. 6, 1956, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. She worked as a receptionist at the Brownton Clinic and then at Telex Communications, Inc., as a repair supervisor. After retiring, she and her husband moved to their lake home on Sauk Lake near Sauk Centre.
Mrs. Bielke enjoyed traveling, playing cards and puzzle books. She liked to watch The Food Network, Dancing With the Stars, and The Bachelorette. She loved spending time with her family and having them all come to the cabin.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre and the Red Hats Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Grochow (significant other Dave Monk) of Glencoe; four grandchildren, Collette (Mike) Hardy of Waconia, Crystal Bussler of Glencoe, Danielle Bielke of Glencoe and Bennett Bielke of Glencoe; great-grandchildren, Paige and Kylie Hardy; sister, Marlys (Virgil) Kurtzweg of Darwin; and sister-in-law, Elvera Smith of Darwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orlin Bielke; parents, Elmer and Alvina Schatz; son, Bruce Bielke; infant brother, Glen Elmer Schatz; sister-in-law, Kathy Sandquist; and brother-in-law, Dave Sandquist.
Arrangements were with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
