The Glencoe-Silver Lake/Lester Prairie wrestling team wrapped up a two-match stretch last week with a second place finish in the New London-Spicer Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 23. The weekend result came two days after a 46-25 dual loss to visiting Litchfield. 
The Panthers fell behind and never recovered against the Dragons as Litchfield went up 28-0 after the first four matches of the night on three pins and a major decision.
Aaron Donnay got GSL/LP on the board with six points at 138 pounds by pinning Murphy Evans in one minute, 13 seconds before Alex Mielke scored another six points with a win by forfeit at 145.
However, two more decisions in favor of Litchfield put the meet further out of reach by the time Nick Brelje earned six points at 170 with a win by fall in 3:25 over Carter Janorschke and Tristan Weber earned four more points with a 10-1 major decision over Andrew Schaurer at 182.
The Dragons claimed two of the final three matches, sandwiching Peyton Sell’s 6-0 decision over Logan Wagner with two victories for the visiting side to put the finishing touches on the 21-point win over the Panthers.
