Michael ‘Mike’ Miller, 59, of Walker
Michael “Mike” Miller, 59, of Walker, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, after a seven-month battle with lung cancer.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Friday, March 2, at 11:30 a.m., at Crosslake Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Thursday, March 1, from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. at the Kline Funeral Home in Pine River, and will continue Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mike Miller was born to Duane and Ruth Miller on June 16, 1958, in Glencoe, and was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe. He graduated with the Glencoe High School class of 1976, and received a degree in non-destructive testing from Willmar College.
He married Jody Stockman on Oct. 24, 1992, and they were blessed with two daughters, Samantha and Barbara. The couple shared 25 years of marriage and lived in Martinez, California, Duluth and Breezy Point before moving to Walker.
Mr. Miller spent the majority of his working life as a pipeline inspector. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, watching the Vikings, Twins and Gophers, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jody; daughters, Samantha (Kory) Eichhorst and Barbara Miller; sisters, Deb, Pat (Rick) and Kathy (David); brothers-in-law, Gary (Shelly), Brad (Nancy), Rick (Stacy) and James; sister-in-law, Shelley (Ryan); many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Ruth Miller; and brothers, Steven and Jeffrey.
