Miller Manufacturing hosts 75th anniversary

After 75 years and several expansions, Miller Manufacturing has good reason to celebrate. The company hosted an open house on Friday, June 24, to mark its 75th anniversary.  Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dan Ferrise gave a presentation on the history of the company and guests were taken on tours of the facility.
Miller Manufacturing began in 1941 when founder Barney Miller began selling poultry fountains. Current CEO Ferrise said the original product is still sold today.
The company is now a part of the Frandsen Corporation, which purchased Miller Manufacturing in 1996. Since then, Miller has acquired several companies including Hot-Shot livestock prods, Springer Magrath animal care, Double-Tuf and API heated products.
“We’re very excited that when we do these acquisitions a lot of the key people continue to work for us,” Ferrise said.
Three of the company’s original five facilities were consolidated into the Glencoe location in 2005. At that time, Miller had 75 employees and 600 products. Today, it has 350-plus employees and more than 1,500 products.
