Minnesota Nice recipient visits Glencoe to show appreciation for care package
A United States Air Force airman who benefited from a McLeod County care package coordination effort — called Minnesota Nice — that sent packages to soldiers overseas recently stopped at former soldier package coordinator Linda Krueger’s house, of Glencoe, to express his gratefulness for the kind gesture that reached thousands of soldiers like himself.
Airman First Class John Rose was overtly thankful for the items sent to him from Minnesota Nice. He was able to put some items to use himself as well as share amongst his peers while overseas and in desperate desire of certain items. They were especially appreciative of the candy.
“Sometimes these guys, they have nothin’ where they’re stationed,” Krueger said as she rested her hands on one of two overflowing binders with the archives of her coordination with Minnesota Nice.
