Much to be proud of as school year wraps up

To the Editor:
The 2017-2018 school year is ending and we cannot say thank you enough to all of our community, parents, staff, and most importantly, our students. Looking back upon the year and reflecting on all of the success stories, I cannot be more proud of our school. This year was a lot of change and adjustments for all of us. Our new building added many wonderful new learning experiences and opportunities. We once again want to say thank you to our stakeholders for all of their support of our school. We think we have something great going on here at GSL, and look forward to continuous improvement in the months and years ahead. I would like to say thank you and wish the Class of 2018 all the best as they enter their next phase of life. I hope you look back on your years at GSL with much pride and admiration. Thank you once again for all of your positive contributions to our school. You will be missed.
Summer will once again be busy and short. One major project that will happen is an upgrade of our auditorium. We still need to put in the required fire suppression, along with the new lights as a part of our building project. We still have a few small items that remain from the punch list, but overall, the building project is complete. It is looking like we will be addressing our back parking lot at the high school during the summer of 2019. We will continue to work hard to make sure the current parking lot has the potholes filled and maintained as best as we can to keep the lot safe. By waiting, we feel that this will allow us to ensure the entire parking lot is done correctly and as efficiently as possible.
Once again, congratulations Class of 2018! We are all very proud of you!
