Myron H. Michaletz, 83, of Glencoe

Myron H. Michaletz, 83, of Glencoe, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
The funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 18, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, with interment following in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Glencoe.
Myron H. Michaletz was born March 16, 1931, in Bergen Township, McLeod County, to William and Lydia (Ehrke) Michaletz. He was baptized in 1931 and confirmed in 1944 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie. He attended country school and St. Peter parochial before attending Glencoe High School, from which he graduated with the class of 1949.
He married Vila Dahlke on Feb. 28, 1959, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
He was an insurance agent for 35 years and served on the board of directors for Young America Mutual Insurance Company. He was a lifelong dairy farmer, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed watching sports on TV. He loved to listen to old-time music and enjoyed reading. He used his Gator to check on things around the farm.
He is survived by his three sons, Mark Michaletz of Glencoe, Joel (Dawn) Michaletz of Litchfield and Gary Michaletz of Glencoe; grandchildren, Miranda and Elijah Michaletz; and sister, Marlene (Ray) Nelson of Litchfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vila; brother, Rueben; and sisters, Grace, Evelyn and an infant sister, Georgianna.
