Names released in NYA murder-suicide
The Carver County Sheriff's Office has released the identities of the two people who were found dead Wednesday in an apparent murder-suicide at Norwood Young America home.
Sheriff Jim Olson said today (Thursday) that the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the identities of the man and woman found dead as Willis Leistiko, 51, and Lanaea Ann Harrison, 23. Both were residents of the Preserve Boulevard home in which they were found.
A preliminary investigation suggests that Leistiko and Harrison were involved in a romantic relationship. Evidence at the scene indicates that Leistiko shot and killed Harrison and placed her body in a waterfowl decoy bag before turning the gun on himself and taking his own life. The time of death has not been determined, but initial information indicates that the incident occurred on Wednesday, March 11.
The bodies were discovered Wednesday at just after 5 p.m. by a roommate of the couple.
The incident is still under investigation by the Carver County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).
