NYA pair makes new dance studio a sister act

Taylor and Sara Johnson, of Norwood Young America, share a family bond that goes deeper than sisterhood — it extends to their passion for dance, which has inhibited and invited a healthy dose of serendipity into their lives. The Johnson sisters recently held an open house for their new dance studio, Revolution Dance Center, on 12th Street East in Glencoe.
Taylor, the owner, is 23 years old and holds a dance degree from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Sara, 20, looks to pursue the same degree from the same university, and she plans to co-own the studio with her sister when she’s out of college.
A dynamic duality of young, educated women, each of whom has little dissension in their path to maturity, have found themselves in an LLC they couldn’t predict. The sisters got their start while teaching private lessons for a small group of girls interested in competitive dancing. The girls enjoyed their lessons so much that the small group, through word-of-mouth, turned into a much larger group and required a more formal venue and system of scheduling.
