Oak Leaf campground has profitable year
In its first full year of operation, the new campground at Oak Leaf Park netted $18,475, City Administrator Mark Larson reported to the city of Glencoe’s Finance Committee on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Larson said he anticipates the campground will generate $25,000 in 2017.
The campground opened in the middle of the summer 2015 on a first-come, first-served basis. Starting in 2017, reservations will be on an online only system.
With continued profits anticipated, Larson recommended that the city transfer $10,000 per year for the next 10 years to the park improvement fund to repay the $100,000 used from the fund to construct the campground.
