Paid campaign letter – Biden should stop ‘hinting’ at his faith and start living it
To the editor,
In today’s Star Tribune, I read an article entitled, “Faith Takes Center Stage,” Monday Oct. 19. This article states that President Donald Trump attended a non-denominational Church of Las Vegas Sunday morning before campaigning in Nevada. Candidate Joe Biden attended Mass in Delaware at St. Joseph’s on the Brandywine before heading to North Carolina. The article further states that on another occasion, Biden held up his rosary that he keeps in his pocket for all to see and claimed to be a Roman Catholic.
Earlier in Biden’s campaign, he ran ads on TV quoting the former pope, who is now St. John Paul II. This is what the quote stated, “Be not afraid.” I am not disputing that the pope said this, but if Biden is bold enough to quote the pope and display his faith, he is only hinting at his Catholicism instead of living it.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church Second Edition teaches that life begins at conception (articles 2270 to 2275). If Joe Biden were truly Roman Catholic, he would try his best to support the unborn.
Draw your own conclusions.
