Paid campaign letter – She backs Lewis, Luciano as gun-rights champion

To the editor,
I would like to remind the many enthusiastic Trump supporters that President Trump also needs you to cast your vote for the Republican candidate for Minnesota U.S. Senate, Jason Lewis.
Lewis wrote in a recent Duluth News Tribune article, “I am proud of President Donald Trump’s endorsement of our campaign and stand ready to walk with the administration on behalf of our shared vision for a strong economy, more jobs, energy independence, safe communities and our very way of life.”
Please heed these words from a recent Jason Lewis Facebook post, “We are at a crossroads in Minnesota and across the country…The choice is clear this November. #turnMNred”
I now transition to an important local race, Jose Luciano for District 1 McLeod County commissioner representing Silver Lake, Winsted, Lester Prairie cities, Bergen, Hale, Winsted townships.
Listening to the Glencoe candidate forum, I noticed that Nathan Schmalz answered the question about the 2013 second amendment resolution passed by the McLeod County Commissioners as “(I) don’t agree with the resolution that was presented at the county level.” Schmalz feels the board would be “…wasting time…” and said he would “…vote to repeal the resolution…”
Jose stated at the forum that he was at this meeting in 2013 and “he wholehearted agreed with the resolution.”
According to a 2013 Hutchinson Leader article about the resolution, Jose “praised the commissioners for their leadership and being ‘at the tip of the arrow’ in support of gun rights.”
I believe this resolution firmly declares the second amendment is the supreme authority regarding the right of the citizens of McLeod County to bear arms and it backs the sheriff of our county to defend that right regardless of federal or state laws.
Please vote for the man who will safeguard this second amendment resolution, Jose Luciano.
Diane Robinson,
Hutchinson
