Panther baseball rebounds with two wins after loss

What happens when your winning streak comes to an end? Start a new one.
That’s what the Glencoe-Silver Lake baseball team did last week.
The Panthers saw a three-game winning streak come to a close with a 4-1 loss to Mound Westonka on Tuesday, April 18, but then swiftly started a new happy run with wins over Dassel-Cokato and Annandale to close out the week.
GSL’s bats fell largely silent in the loss to the White Hawks as the hosts managed just three hits and one run at Vollmer Field. Starting pitcher Mitch Boesche came up as the hard-luck loser despite giving up just four hits and two earned runs in six innings on the rubber.
Taylor Schauer drove in Alex Troska with the Panthers’ lone tally, tying the game at 1-1 in the third inning. However, Mound Westonka broke the game open with a three-run seventh inning to put the game away. Troska, Boesche and Carsen Streich logged GSL’s hits.
