Panther gymnasts earn season high
As the regular season nears its end, the Glencoe-Silver Lake gymnastics team is approaching the top of its game.
In a triangular meet against Delano and host Litchfield on Thursday, Feb. 2, the Panthers recorded their season-high score of 122.225. The score topped their previous high of 121.225, set on Jan. 13.
Gia Venier led GSL with an all-around score of 32.150, posting an 8.7 on vault, 8.325 on floor exercise, 8.275 on balance beam and 6.850 on uneven bars.
Marissa Greeley put up an all-around score of 31.225 with an 8.7 on floor, 8.45 on vault, 7.075 on beam and 7.0 on bars.
Makayla Wigern scored a 28.475 in the all-around, with an 8.175 on vault, 7.5 on floor, 6.55 on beam and a 6.25 on bars.
Delano recorded a 133.6, with Litchfield posting a 126.275.
The Panthers close out the regular season at Watertown-Mayer on Thursday night. The Section 2A Tournament follows on Thursday, Feb. 16, at the K&G Center in Mankato.
