Panther softball wins two more

In spite of suffering its most lopsided loss of the season to end a three-game winning streak, it was still a largely successful stretch for the Glencoe-Silver Lake softball team last week.
The Panthers went 2-1 overall, sandwiching the heavy loss at Dassel-Cokato with a pair of satisfying wins against Mound Westonka and Holy Family Catholic.
GSL set out on the road for the first time with its trip to Mound Westonka on Tuesday, April 18, and proved to be rude guests via a 5-1 win over the White Hawks.
Mound Westonka’s lone tally came in the sixth inning, but by that time, the Panthers had already posted four of their five runs in the game – saving the final score for the seventh inning.
Pitcher Brianna Wraspir went the distance, striking out three while allowing four hits, two walks and one earned run.
She also helped her own cause with a two-run single in the third inning that provided all the scoring GSL needed on the day.
