Panthers’ roar restored as sectional playoffs beckon

Consider that losing streak fully nipped in the bud.
The Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ basketball team officially squelched any fears of a second-consecutive sub-.500 season by winning all three of its games last week to take a 14-11 into the final game of the regular season on Friday at Dassel-Cokato.
Three losses in a row as part of a stretch of eighth defeats in 10 games had dropped the Panthers to 11-11 as they hit their court for the first contest of a three-game homestand on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
The White Hawks proved pesky in the early going, but a late run propelled the hosts to a 41-27 halftime lead and GSL never looked back en route to an 84-45 win.
Four Panthers scored in double figures on the night, led by forward Kyle Christensen’s 17-point evening. Guard Luke Frahm scored 14 points, with forward Matt Sanchez and guard Tyler Ehrke posting 11 and 10 points, respectively.
