Panthers host, win Delwiche Invite

Both the Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams hosted and won the annual Caty Delwiche Invitational meet, held at Stevens Seminary Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 21.
Connor Hallaway’s second-place finish in a time of 18:13.94 on the 5,000-meter course led the Panther boys to a winning score of 35 points – far surpassing the 61 points of second-place LeSueur-Henderson.
All five Panther scorers placed in the top-11 finishers, with Tony Fischer (18:26.94) taking fifth, Jakob Rusten (18:37.13) seventh, Joseph Knudten (19:08.38) 10th and Oscar Pena (19:23.11) 11th.
AJ Anderson Sanchez (20:00.38) was 20th, while Zach Herout (20:26.93) placed 24th.
The GSL girls won by an even wider margin, placing all five scorers in the top-10 for 34 points to 63 for the second-place Saints.
