Patricia M. Albrecht, 82, of Brownton

Patricia “Pat” Albrecht, 82, of Brownton, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Sept. 8, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart with the Rev. Jerry Meidl officiating. Marjorie Navara was the organist.
Casket bearers were her six grandsons; honorary casket bearers were her two granddaughters. Interment was Saturday, Sept. 9, in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.
Patricia Mary Albrecht was born Oct. 27, 1934, at her parents’ home on James Avenue in Mankato. She was the daughter of Bernard and Lillian (Schaible Mahoney) Leftault. She was baptized at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato on Dec. 9, 1934, and confirmed her faith there on Oct. 24, 1954. She received her education in Mankato, and graduated from Mankato High School on May 28, 1953. For the next 11 years, she was employed at AEMCO in Mankato.
She met Leo Albrecht at the Mankato Ballroom. They shared an enjoyment of polka music, fell in love, and were united in marriage on July 11, 1964, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. They made their home in Brownton, and were blessed with two children, Theresa and Michael. The family lived in Brownton for 16 years until making their home in Penn Township. Along with helping her husband on the farm, Mrs. Albrecht was employed at Telex Communication in Glencoe for 15 years. The couple shared nearly 49 years of marriage before Mr. Albrecht’s death on June 18, 2013. Mrs. Albrecht continued to live in their home in Penn Township.
Mrs. Albrecht was faith-filled and active in her church membership at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart. She served on the liturgy committee for nine years, and seven years as the church secretary. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women (CCW) and was vice president and president in 1973 and 1974.
She enjoyed gardening and canning her produce. Reading, watching the Minnesota Twins on TV and watching polka (Molly B) were her favorite pastimes. She was a very thoughtful, hospitable and awesome farm wife who liked to cook and bake. She loved going to church, coffee at Cactus Jack’s, going out to eat, and spending birthdays, anniversaries and holidays with her family. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Theresa M. (Erik) Albrecht Sleigh of Port Orchard, Washington, and Michael (Heidi) Albrecht of Grove City; grandchildren, Andrea (José) Carvalho, Natasha Sleigh, Nicholas Sleigh, Zachary Sleigh, Jesse Albrecht, Jacob Albrecht, Elijah Albrecht and Lucas Albrecht; great-grandchildren, Leila Carvalho and Annaliese Carvalho, plus one on the way; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; siblings and their spouses, Georgia I. and Don McCartney and Bernard J. and Marge Leftault; and a sister in infancy, Dianne Leftault.
Arrangements were with the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Stewart.
