Planning commission tables permit request for twin homes addition
The city of Glencoe’s Planning Commission on May 11 tabled a special use permit request by Glencoe Progressive Partners to build twin homes along 20th Street West in Glencoe.
Last month, the Planning Commission voted against recommending the approval of the special use permit after several neighbors voiced concerns about potential property value declines and splitting utilities.
The Glencoe City Council asked the developer for more information and asked the planning commission to reconsider.
At the meeting, Planning Commission Chair Ron Knop, who lives across the street from the proposed project, presented covenants, registered in 2005, stating that a fourth-fifths vote of lot owners was required to add more town homes in the 7th Addition of North Country Estates.
