Plato losing skid hits five games
An injury-ravaged Plato Blue Jays squad continued to limp towards the end of the regular season with two more losses last weekend.
Deprived of several key contributors, the defending Class C state champions have lost five in a row and six of its last nine to drop to 8-12 overall and 8-9 in Crow River Valley League play.
Plato opened the weekend in a harsh manner, falling 10-0 to the visiting Carver Black Sox. The visitors scored the only run they needed in the top of the first inning, as the hosts mustered up just five hits in the contest.
