Plato thumps Cards in regular-season finale
It was a whale of a way to snap a five-game losing streak as the Plato Blue Jays thumped Young America 10-3 in the regular-season finale for both teams Sunday, July 21.
Plato, which had lost eight of its last nine games heading into Wilkommen Park, took a 4-0 lead on the hosts in the second inning, and then proceeded to score a pair of runs in each of the third, fifth and seventh frames.
Blue Jays starting pitcher Mitchell Pinske, on the other hand, held the Cardinals largely at bay by giving up just three earned runs over nine innings.
