Plato wins three straight

Three straight victories have propelled the Plato Blue Jays to a 10-3 overall record heading into this week. The bats were a-swingin’ for Plato over the three-game stretch, with the Blue Jays scoring 34 runs total in wins against Hamburg, Glencoe and Waconia.
The closest game of the week was a 14-10 defeat of Hamburg in a “home” game played in Glencoe on Tuesday, June 16. Both sides swung the lumber to the tune of 23 combined hits. Plato rallied from slight deficits after the first two innings before taking the lead for good in the bottom of the second. The Blue Jays led 9-6 after the third and increased the edge to 12-6 after the sixth.
The Hawks kept things interesting with four runs in the top of the seventh, but Plato bought itself a two-run insurance policy with two final runs in the bottom of the frame to bring the count to its eventual final four-run spread.
Matt Odegaard notched the win for the Blue Jays, striking out six while allowing three hits and a walk over 3-2/3 innings of work. Brian Graupmann, Chris Odegaard and Cody Hallahan also took turns on the hill.
