Rhonda Jane Zajicek, 53, of Glencoe

Rhonda Jane (Tonn) Zajicek, 53, of Glencoe, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Dec. 31, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Dawn Wolter was the organist. Congregational hymns were “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Amazing Grace” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”
Urn bearers were Stephanie Zajicek and Abbie Zajicek.
Rhonda Jane (Tonn) Zajicek was born Nov. 9, 1963, in Glencoe, the daughter of Clarence and LaVerda (Bergs) Tonn. She was baptized as an infant on Nov. 24, 1963, by the Rev. Inselmann, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 29, 1979, by the Rev. Axel Kordahl, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. Her confirmation verse was Romans 8:1: “Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” She received her education in Glencoe, graduating with the Glencoe High School class of 1982.
On Feb. 22, 1981, she was united in marriage to Keith Zajicek by the Rev. Axel Kordahl at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. They made their home in Glencoe, and their marriage was blessed with three sons, Kerry, Kyle and Collin. They shared almost 36 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Zajicek worked hard to build a career in McLeod County over the last 25 years. She worked first in the auditor’s office then served as an emergency medical technician. For the past 13 years, she was a manager at the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office. She was steadfast in her faith and was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
She cherished the time spent with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her time camping and traveling with her husband in their camper. But they were rarely alone; most of the adjacent campsites were occupied with many of their dearest friends. She loved having her boys home and was known to prepare twice as much food as was necessary. Nobody could make potatoes or salads like she could. She also was known to spoil her grandchildren; she always had a knack for picking out the perfect toy or clothes for each child. She was truly looking forward to her first granddaughter in spring. She was a thoughtful, caring, generous and incredibly loyal person. She made raising three rambunctious boys look easy. She also enjoyed campfires, quilting, football, basketball, stock car racing and country music.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Zajicek of Glencoe; sons, Kerry (Abbie) Zajicek of Chanhassen, Kyle (Stephanie) Zajicek of Glencoe and Collin Zajicek of St. Paul; grandsons, Bradley Zajicek, Blake Zajicek, Theodore Zajicek and Harrison Zajicek; a granddaughter due in April; twin sister, RaNaye (Mark) Weierke of Waconia; sister, Janell (Jon) Wilcox of Waukesha, Wisconsin; brother, Al Tonn of Janesville; mother-in-law, Laurina Zajicek of Glencoe; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and LaVerda Tonn; and father-in-law, Joseph Zajicek.
Arrangements were with the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe. Online obituaries and guest book are available at www.hantge.com.
