Ruth Ann Segler, 89, of Big Lake, formerly of Waverly, died at her residence on Thursday, Aug. 27.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial is set for Saturday, Sept. 5, at 10:30 a.m., at the Church of Mary Catholic Church, 440 Lake St. N, Big Lake, and will be preceded by visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Gene Doyle will officiate. Interment will be in the Waverly Cemetery.
 
Ruth Ann Segler was born July 7, 1926, in Glencoe, to Gerald and Anna Marie (Coenen) Edwards. She grew up in Glencoe and lived in Hopkins, Excelsior, Zimmerman, Waverly and Big Lake since 2000. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Segler in 1945. She worked at Minneapolis Moline for a short time after marriage, but was a homemaker and loving, patient mother for most of her life. She also was a great cook.
 
She is survived by her children, Roger of Big Lake, Richard (Ellen) of Bemidji, Robert of Big Lake, Dale (Sandy) of Montrose, Randy (Brenda) of Montrose, Gary of Montrose, Mark of Waverly, Diane Segler of Port Orange, Florida, Trudy Lamberty of Montrose, Cathy (Clayton) Poirier of Buffalo, Nancy Casey of Pierz and Ann Larson of Maple Plain; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and twin sister, Rose Mary Habisch of Big Lake.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Anna Marie Edwards; husband, Kenneth; grandson, James Joseph Segler; brother, Bud Edwards; and several half brothers and sisters.
 
Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
